TaxiPal has been honoured through its selection to the final of the Eurecan European Venture Contest (EEVC) from 987 applications from 24 countries throughout 2010.
449 ICT, Cleantech and Healthcare companies were selected by experts to present at one of our 15 qualifying events across Europe. From this number the Top 150 were selected. They were reviewed by over 120 European Experts online and face-to-face at the European Venture Summit representing funds such as Earlybird Venture Capital, Philips Healthcare Incubator and Veraventure Oy. The Final of the Contest is sponsored by Corporacción Can and Microsoft and supported by Barcelona Activa.
The 2010 edition involved 15 locations across Europe in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Hungary, Spain and the UK. The winner will receive recognition as one of the most innovative companies at an international level and a prize of 30,000 euro per stream. Many of the previous finalists have since successfully raised capital and expanded their business.
William Stevens, CEO of Europe Unlimited commented “The number of applications and active presenters across all 15 qualifier events of the 2010 Eurecan European Venture Contest and the quality, demonstrate the importance of innovative entrepreneurship in Europe.”

As of today, TaxiPal has helped people in 24 countries to reach local taxi companies and get a ride home, to a hotel or to a business meeting. We work hard to add more cities to our coverage so that travellers won’t be stranded without a taxi anywhere.
